Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
Talking with quilters from all over the world is amazing, but sometimes it's good to get to know other quilters closer to home. This group will allow us to get to know other quilters from North Carolina, share our favorite quilt shops, tips, techniques and maybe make some new friendships!

I put together a 3 day quilt retreat for friends (15 - 20) so it’s a relatively small retreat. We have been going to Camp Dogwood at Lake Norman but they are going through many changes and I haven’t been ble to get any dates set for 2019 scheduled.…Continue

Not too far from you is a shop called We’re Sew Creative, just off I-85 in one of the strip malls on the side of Concord Mills. It’s worth the drive. They are on Facebook and have a group called Friends of We’re Sew Creative. I hope you will check it out. If you don’t like the interstate, I believe there are back roads to use to get there.
Hi to all, I am new and I live in Salisbury, which seems to be the only city that hasn't got around to having a quilt store. I have lived here for 2 and 1/2 years and love NC but where did you all hide the Quilt Stores?? I moved from Florida and I would think they would not have any but they are all over and I figured NC gets cold and there would be loads of them. Please share your favorite around Salisbury, I never go to Charlotte traffic is to scary. I am finishing my sewing room

I just started quilting last October, 2015. I'm totally hooked. Have made 7 bed sized quilts so far. I'd really enjoy joining a quilting circle. I live in the South Charlotte area of North Carolina. Specifically, Indian Land/Fort Mill.
Does anyone here live in or near Trinity, Lexington, Asheboro, Thomasville? I have a longarm and was thinking of renting it out. What is your opinion on this idea?
I use Whatever's Quilted in Wake Forest http://www.whateversquilted.com/ Donna always does an amazing job!
Sue, I've managed to get pull out the parts that are pieced and the rest of the fabric for one of the quilts but not much progress being made on the assembly. I am retired so work doesn't get in the way for me but I still get requests for embroidery projects. I finished up a little girls purse yesterday and today I'm going to start on some tablet covers that I saw demonstrated on the MSQ site today. With 14 great grans who all are all such techies I will be busy making them for awhile. I really need to find someone local who can do the quilting for me. I just don't have the room to do it on my sewing machine. Where do you send your quilt out to?
Hi Bette! How is your ambitious plan coming along? I have a problem that by the time I finish piecing my quilt top I am ready to move on to the next quilt and I only have my little sewing machine so I send my quilts to be quilted for me so I can move on! Especially now that I am finishing up a quilt for someone who got married in October and need to make 4 baby quilts. Plus cross stitch 2 birth announcements for my sisters who are both having baby one due in July 1 due in September! If only this pesky thing called work didn't get in my way I would have no problem getting it done! lol
What are you NC quilters up to these days? I finally got through Easter Baskets and bunnies so that now I can get back to my true love - PIECING AND QUILTING. My time has been reduced my the embroidery I've been doing but my plan is to finish the top I'm making for my middle sister and then quilt the 3 that I've made for all my sisters by August. In the meantime I have to get fabrics for the top I am designing for my daughter. With any luck she'll have it under the tree at Christmas. I know this is very ambitious but without declaring my goals I'll never get to it. Gimme a nudge every so often so to stay on target.
You all need to call and find out what they have available! We call in Nov for an Oct date and they were booked. We had to take a different date. They fill up fast. It may already be too late for this year. This may have to be a next year thing. Or look for a different place. But call to see what they have available.
May possibly? How does that work for everyone?
