What did you make for your very first quilt?  Or if you are making your first one now, what is it?  For my very first quilt I made a lap size Log Cabin.  I used the book, "Log Cabin in a Day" by…Continue

Hi Regina, I am new to this site also, but I love it alreadyI  I am fairly new to quilting, have made a few quilts, and I am very interested in quilt art.  I just spoke to my friend at our guild meeting Saturday if she would help me when I go to start my first art piece. Cant wait, but it wont be for a little while.  I would appreciate any hints or help!:)

Marcia,I'd like it if you start an art group, that is mostly what I do,will be glad to share some of my techniques.

Regina, I have never heard of of Bo-Nash Fuse it powder.,tell me where you can get it.

I see several of you are thinking about buying a Go or Baby Go. Before you do check out the new Scan n' Cut by Brothers. google it. no need to buy dies. It is laser cut. I saw a demo of it and it's on my list to buy.

Marcia, I'll join you if you start an art quilt group. I need all the help I can receive. Have you done any artsy wall hangings, or landscaping or watercolors? I'd like to try "confetti" landscapes. Use up all my scraps. I bought something called Bo-Nash Fuse It powder. It is to be used with the confetti and bonds fabrics together instantly. Has anyone used it before.

Regina Carol, you sent us a message about art quilts( btw you can comment on here by filling in the comment box then hit "add comment" box underneath it). I checked the list of "groups" and couldn't find an art quilt group already existing...maybe you should start one :)

Marcia, l think a group for those using ANY brand of cutter would be great...that way  comparisons of brands as well as ideas/tips would flow w/o someone thinking they "don't belong".lt would also help those who are thinking of up-sizingbto a studio cutter make up their minds. l'm not buying 'til the big quilt show in next town end of mo. in case there's are multiple vendors there to comparison shop. Thanks for the Amazon idea ( pricing). l don't believe l'd ever get a used one ( Craig's) because l wouldn't know if someone had misused/ruined it.

BTW, what were you doing wrong? l also wonder about pics. of dies l've seen where 2 or 3 sizes  appear to be on one dye. What if you didn't want to cut te other sizes? Questions like this could be answered.

Jennifer I love your color combination and what a good idea about cutting scraps in the hexie shape.  I haven't bought that die yet.

Riana, glad you made your migration with no problems.  And, I see you have decided on the Baby Go.  Before you buy it, check Amazon, and other places on the web to search pricing.  I buy a lot of my dies from

I sure have had a lot of difficulty on placing the fabric correctly on the dies.  Last week I had a private lesson on using the Go, and that is going to help me a lot.  I was getting to the point of being afraid to use it - I ruined so much fabric.  Strips were coming out wonky and squares were short. But I think it will be ok from now on.  Do you think it would be a good idea to set-up a "group" for the Accu quilt cutters?

Love tge colors, Jenifer. I'm looking to purchase Go Baby cutter, and plan to get "apple core" die to use on my smaller non-strip scraps:)
