How would you define a quilt as "modern"?

This cute tulip quilt was put together by our group at Water Oak. I felt this modern quilt hust needed a fresh, simple quilting design. I think it suits the modern look of it.

A modern design l came up with when l emptied my bin of strings. The border blocks got done firs. I didn't have enough for an entire l improvised.

This is 1/4 of the quilt our group made & l got to quilt...there were 6 of the solid bands, and 3 of the ''mod squares", so l got topractice 6 of my ''sashing fmqs''. Kind of a modern/vintage thing :-)

Not sure what you call my wall hangings?.. hand drawings with farber castle pens on cloth. Some call them modern. What do you think?

lt's done & off the frame, Beth...and l'm very pleased with the result. l WAS very careful...thanks for the advice.As soon as it's bound l'll post a photo. The " real " quilt goes on the frame tomorrow.

That is cute Riana.  

Just don't pull the minkee tight on the stretch.  Then it will lay flat.  If you pull minkee to tight, will make it pucker.
