Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
I know most traditional hexie quilts are hand quilted. I've quilted mine using free-motion-quilting with my domestic machine and I've also used French Knots too.
I've just finished a top and am considering options. I'm going to use a wool batting (so fluffy and easy to stitch) and a regular piece of quilting fabric for the back.
This thickness makes it seem too hard to quilt by hand... especially when I read that you are supposed to have 12 stitches per inch! I think if I did hand-quilting, I would be lucky to get 4-6 stitches per inch... would that be good enough?
