Gardening is my second love, after quiltmaking. The two are SO different! Gardening is lots of hard work; quiltmaking is pure pleasure. And I'm perfectly fine with taking six months off from the…Continue

Baptisia and a poppy that is getting sunlight for the first time...the huge lilac that shaded it had to be cut to 18" for the dig up.

The front gardens , redone from scratch 4 yr. ago, are now finally fully filled in. It was worthe the wait!

As you can see, 4 of the shrubs made it! Lost 2, but added in 2 roses in thaeir place. The minute the side ( veggie) garden was empty, l bought small tomatoe and pepper plants & put them in...that was 2 wk. ago, and they're doing well ( love that Miracle Grow for tomatoes). Then l dug up 6 large hostas from under our weeping mulberry, divided them, and created a garden next to the deck. That area only gets early morning sun, then goes to shade. Hubby got a few tiny bushes to plant along the side of the house...will be many years before they grow into their space,lol...but l'll add a few perrenials.

Gorgeous irises, Linda. Mine are just emerging.

1/2  of the veggie garden intact, but full of topsoil from other half. I can't use it for veggies anyway...l need it to temporarily plant those shrubs.
