Hi everyone!  I have sewn all my life, but just started quilting about a year ago and love it.  I am interested in attending a quilting workshop (don't have a specific topic) this July or August.  I live in central Texas, but could go to PA or the Midwest.  If anyone knows of any, pls. let me know.

In Hershey, PA at the end of July is Quilt Odyssey. Which is pretty fun. They have a bunch of classes you can take and a show and vendor area. http://www.quiltodyssey.com/  I am going again this year with my mom and some of her quilting friends. I only get to go ever other year since I am also going from Texas.
AQS will be holding it's summer show in Knoxville, TN, July 13 - 16 at the Knoxville Convention Center. We will have more than 600 quilts on display, a big merchant mall, and lots of great workshops and lectures. If you register for a workshop or lecture, you'll also receive a free lecture as a thank you for supporting the Knoxville show. This is our final year of our 3-year contract there and want this one to be the best one yet. Hope to see you in Knoxville!
I forgot to tell you to go to www.AmericanQuilter.com and click on shows to find the information for registering for the Knoxville show.
Thanks, Megan and Bonnie!  I'm going to go to the Knoxville show on the way to see my folks in WV!  I didn't realize that there would be workshops at quilt shows.  I'm going to be in quilting heaven.  Hope to see you there.
Suzanne: The AQS Quilt Show will be in Knoxville, TN, July 13 - 16. We have some great workshops and lectures, plus you don't want to miss the Elvis Murder Mystery Cruise on the Star of Knoxville on Thursday evening. It will be a great time for an evening cruise, some good Southern food, and Elvis will be there somewhere - should be fun!

Suzanne:

AQS will have it's summer show in Grand Rapids, Michigan, August 22 - 25, 2012, at the DeVos Place Convention Center. The headquarters hotel is attached: Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and the rate is $114 plus taxes per night. It is both a beautiful convention center and hotel. We will have the registration guide completed very soon. Watch the AQS website: www.AmericanQuilter.com, click on Quilt Shows.

We will be having a special My Quilt Place room in Grand Rapids for networking, meeting your online My Quilt Place friends, and some free demos.

Hope to see you in Grand Rapids!

Hi Carol! I'm living in Houston, TX and just started this year teaching at a quilt shop Southwest of downtown. I'm teaching paper piecing. I have a few different classes going on this summer if your interested I can send you more information. Otherwise, if I were you, I'd look at quilt shops in the area your going to be in and see what is available there. Most shops offer a variety of classes. Good luck!

The International Quilt Festival is held in Houston the first weekend of November. They always have workshops and classes associated with it.
