Well I finally got my first Featherweight!  It's in immaculate condition and I found it at an Antique Mall for $350.  I joined this group a few years ago because my dream was to have a Featherweight and now I do.  I'm so excited!  I bought a 1/4" foot for it, but I haven't even tried it out yet.  I'm not sure how to grease and oil it.  I have the book that came with the machine, plus I have a more detailed book.  Where do I buy grease???  I have an Army Green "White" from the early 40's that I taught myself to use, but I'm a little hesitant to use the Featherweight.  I want to make sure it's well greased and oiled before I do anything!

I have 2 Featherweights. I had them serviced by my local Jamone dealer for $100 each. I would not used them till they have been checked out. The machine may need a new belt and will need a good oiling. Use Singer Sewing Machine oil. Then oil after every 8 hours of use. Mary

Thanks for the info!

Bridget I had a local viking dealer service mine when I first got it because I couldn't figure out the tension. Get Singer sewing machine oil for it. There are several sights in including you tube videos that show you how to oil and grease her. Have fun, they are so easy to use. Love my featherweight.

I never think to look on YouTube! I found lots of help!
