Sue: The wallpaper seam roller...is that like a brayer?
This is a fun topic. Since I've just gotten back into quilting I have several favorite tools that were't available 30 (or so) years ago. My number one favorite is the computer! Wow, how Electric Quilt beats graph paper!!! And I've even gotten a computer for my longarm.
Now, number two is the rotary cutter; I used to think my electric scissors were wonderful (not any more).
Number three is a wallpaper seam roller to quickly press seams. Why that never occurred to me before I'll never know.
