I love CQ and made my !st one in 2004 with my oldest daughters remnants left from bride and bridesmaids dresses. I used lining fabric for the base.  My embroidery stiches were limited so I finished a king size in a year complete and hand quilted for their 1st aniversary.  I have a second one started from my second daughters wedding in 2008  which is taking much longer as I have since found several more embroidery books for crazy quilts and the more elaborate the stitches the longer it takes plus they have made me grandmax2 and that takes up some time too but I keep pluggin away and they might get it for their 10th anniversary. Who knows!
