Newest grandson arrived end of October, but I was working on Quilts of Valor for our group sew day. This one had to wait until I was done and my meltdown dissipated. Now have to sandwich and quilt on my machine .. what is everyone else is up to? I have been kinda hibernating in my sewing room trying to finish things. Nephew and niece had twins and I only had one top finished, had to do a 2nd, which is 1/2 way done, but then I had to move.. just bought a house, so will be moving again, so have to get some quick finishes done!
Hi I make baby quilts and give them to a pregnancy care clinic. I have been quilting for 4 years and find that baby quilts are easy to top quilt on a sewing machine. I have made queen size but have sent them out to be top quilted on a longarm(that i wished i owed), LOL. Thanks Gina
I am currently working on a baby quilt for a friend of mine. and I will post a picture when finished. I have at least more to start by next month. I'm doing a baby ministry at church to help young mothers and give them a quilt for their babies.
Thanks Karen ~~ the turtle pattern is Topsy Turvy Turtles by karipatch designs .. really cute .. a lot of work, but totally cute hahahaha
so was the sailboats .. am I a glutton for punishment or what ...
Love these quilts! The turtle is really cute. I belong to a group/gild that makes quilts for babies...we donate to the local childrens hospital. Love getting ideas from this group.
Sailboats was returned from longarmer and has now been shipped and opened at grandson's .. he LOVES it according to reports and is sleeping under it every night .. mission accomplished.
Have been working hard at the machine stitching on the butterflies turtles and flowers. My idea for FMotion is not working so am doing outline stitching and stabilizing blocks .. have done green, orange and pink thread, now changing to blue, and then will change to white for background block stitching. This is one I wish I had sent out to be done .. oh well ... I am stitching inside the hat, shells, flowers and butterfly wings and bodies .. then I will outline / echo the shapes in each block .. using LOTS of thread lol
Thanks, Ruth! For a simple quilt, it took a lot of preplanning. And it turned out even better than I'd planned and really showcased that great fabric! *grin*
