Hi Ladies,
I was wondering if any of you are entering quilts in the State Fair this year. I entered 2. Hope you are all enjoying this awesome summer.
Dana, how is your sewing room coming along? I would love to see pictures of it when you get it finished. Don't forget pictures of the quilts that you are working on.
I have finished only one this year and it really is the only one I have been working on. I have about 6 more that I want to do this year but at this point I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to get them started. I still have 400 hand made garters to make for the Red Dog Saloon.
Matter of fact, I should get back to those right now.
Kathy
This seams to be my most productive time of year; the daylight increases, but still too much snow and mud to think about gardening, and the fish are not in. So.... i'm getting a lot done in my sewing room. It was an especially productive winter for me. I usually only finish about 3 quilts a year. But, i've worked on 6 quilts this winter. Most of them are in their final stages, such as binding, borders, backing and such. I want to finish at least three in time for our local quilt show. I work best with a deadline. How's everyone else doing? Signs of spring? (or fall for those waaaaaay south?)
What is the mountains name? My sister looks at Pioneer Peek from her kitchen table. So beautiful! I need to vist her again to enjoy the mountains again besides my sister time!
Welcome Debbi, thank you for joining our group.
South East Alaska have beautiful mountains. the picture at the top of this group is just one of the mountains that I see when I open my door every morning.
Hello ladies, I am a former Alaskan and my sister is still living in Palmer, AK so would love to connect w/ you ladies. I do miss Alaska some but not all your snow. But the mts. i do miss.
Looking around the quilting websites I have seen an acuquilt and thought it would be useful for applique does anyone have any pros or cons for using one maybe more useful for people going into business with their hobby.
Welcome Dana, Juneau is getting snain today, I hate when both rain and snow come down at the same time it make driving an adventure.
This is a great time of year for us to stay inside and work on some nice warm quilts. I'm working on a twin size bright colored crazy quilt for my great nephew right now. I will post pictures when I get it finished.
Stay warm and safe up there.
Kathy
Hi, i'm joining from AK. How 'bout all that snow? and rain:(
Bamboo is a renewable product, is eco friendly and easy to use. It's soft but low loft. It's hard to say how warm it is, that very much depends on the circumstances of use but I like it for all the reasons indicated.
