Let’s do a block to “remember” this interesting period of time in our lives.  A neighborhood filled with trees and houses in memory of our lockdown.  We would use permanent ink or embroidery to label your house with your name and state (also city if you like).

Use the FatCatPattern “Backyard Friends” ... all patterns on sale at their website 30% off with coupon code TEXAS til June 1.  Or use any Applique house / tree pattern that is 6-1/2w x 9-1/2h or 13w x 9-1/2h.  We will use a light background, but use your scraps for the trees or house.
The picture below is a finished quilt using this pattern.

UPDATED INFORMATION... Any light background color (white, cream, tone-on-tone, light blue), add windows, doors, hearts, etc. and any style house you desire (applique, embroidered or paper pieced), just stick to either of above sizes, please add extra 1/4” around to allow for true-up by quilter.

Here are links from the I Spy Swap meant for this swap.

Yes, that really is a cute fountain, Wilma.

Thanks, I thought it was cute too.

Ok I am home and ready to start making blocks. I need the rundown here. Is everyone making two blocks for everyone or on?  Also, what size is the most dominant in what y’all are making? :)

Hi Connie....so far we are making a house and tree in exchange for a house and tree.  All of mine are 7x10 blocks.  As long as your blocks are centered, the swapper can trim to whatever size.  I plan on making a fountain or bench for each swapper if they want one or both...just send an extra and let me know.

Welcome and have fun.

Hi, Connie.  Mine are all 7x10 also with a tree or a building on each.  They go quickly and look fun when they’re done.  Glad you are safely home.

Another clarification. I make 5 house blocks and 5 tree blocks the same and then two of each of a different style. Correct?

Since we said we were using scraps, Connie, you could make all seven different if that’s what your scraps dictate.  I cheated a bit as there wasn’t enough green in my scrap collection, lol.  Also, I had a fabric in my stash I wanted to use for the quilt shops. ;-o

There’s no Scraps Police.  Nor is there anyone saying whether you want tall houses or squat houses.  Just enjoy.

Here is the main block

That’s adorable, Connie.  I love it.

Oh I do love the colors, so cute.  I need to get busy.  Mine are all scrappy.  Going to “practice” the IQ Designner on my machine and see if I can do the house appliqués that way.

Looks great Connie
