I just read a tip from Nancy's Notions not to use lead pencils to mark my seam allowances because it may leave a permanent mark.  I'd like to know what everybody else uses.  I  was using a lead pencil, now I'm not so sure.

I also use the Frixon pens---not had any problem with the marks returning.  But, then, I live in Arizona!!

I like chalk for marking quilts - it's maybe a little too easy to remove, but as long as you're not marking a huge, detailed area, the chalk wheels work great.
I usually use a microfiber cloth to rub off any remaining marks before I iron. I have had problems with the black lead on light fabric.
