Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
Hi,
I'm from Talkeetna, Alaska and live out away from everything except animals and birds. I'm a retired RN, gardener, seamstress, quilter, horsewoman, soapmaker. Two years ago, I was finally able to build a studio for sewing, quilting and soapmaking. I love it, my happy place! So, as these things go sometimes, I will find myself moving to PA in a few months to take care of my grandson. I came to help take care of the baby when my daughter went back to work and she asked me to say and take care of him. Very mixed feelings as I love and feel at peace in Alaska, but I can't miss out on him growing up. So, PA, here I come. Much as I love Alaska, I did realize there are many things here that I'll love, like Lots of quilt shops! And, I got to go to AQS Lancaster Quilt show last week!

Your big heart has landed you right in the middle of quilt central! Although time for sewing may be a bit limited for a while, there will be no regrets. Grandtreasures keep us young:))
Thank you Riana! I live in a one room cabin in Talkeetna and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to manage driving in PA. So many people! So, I take some deep breaths and think about being with family. It'll certainly be different, but change is good!
Hi Karen - I left Alaska after 34 years to care for elderly parents. They have since passed and I am still in Montana - I have a wonderful group of quilting friends here although its abit of a drive to quilt shops! I was in Anchorage so was ready to leave due to never ending traffic! Sometimes I can go days, in my small town, not meeting other cars at an intersection in our one-stoplight town! I loved Talkeetna - and I totally understand your apprehension for driving in traffic! I'm thinking you'll adjust just fine! What an adventure for you - enjoy that grandbaby!
