Tatting is traditionally used for lacemaking, but modern applications include jewelry & fiber/clothing embellishments. Learn tatting utilizing a long needle instead of a shuttle. Master basic skills like rings, chains, picots & joins, then begin to read tatting patterns & diagrams - even shuttle tatting patterns. Learn using cotton thread, but compare modern materials like rayon or nylon cords. Embellish tatting with beads to make beautiful jewelry, i.e. pendants & bracelets. Crocheters & knitters learn needle tatting readily, but no prior experience is necessary. Beginning to intermediate students welcome.
