Event Description

These fantastic quilts were created over a 40-year period, Erlenborn's pieces have detailed, innovative designs and stunning use of color. Among her many awards and honors is her quilt "Sweet Land of Liberty," named State of Virginia runner-up in 1985 for the centennial of the Statue of Liberty contest, sponsored by the American Folk Art Museum. Erlenborn uses a variety of techniques in the quilts she makes for show and family. She captured doodles drawn during legislative and White House meetings by colleagues of her husband, retired Rep. John Erlenborn, in her quilted art.
