After my usual 2 1/2 cups of coffee this a.m. and making breakfast, I fully intended to start on this quilt. I have my templates made and the fabric is ready to go. So, there I sat at the sewing machine and just couldn't bring myself to begin tracing around templates and cutting out fabric. I just hate templates! I love this pattern and it will make an awesome quilt, but I HATE using templates. My first experience with them was for the Giant Dahlia quilt. I bought the templates from Marti Mitchel (sp?) As usual I didn't read directions.( Guess that comes from being married for 49 years to a guy who doesn't believe in directions. lol ) When I had the dahlia all pieced the directions said "if it doesn't lay flat, make adjustments". I held my breath and laid it in the floor. Miracle of miracles, it lay flat. Hooray for me. Anyway, that was not a fun quilt to make. My husband loves it and I can barely stand to look at it. So now I have to begin this Asian fabric quilt. Guess tomorrow is another day. lol Still wondering why I picked this pattern that requires templates. Will keep you updated when I acquire the fortitude to begin.
