Well ladies, tragedy has struck my household once again.. this morning my adorable little Janome threw a hiss fit, jammed up a needle and now refuses to sew without snagging the threads of any fabric I put under it. It's old and inexpensive, so not worth trying to fix beyond the cleaning etc that I already tried.. so, R.I.P my little Janome.. your replacement will be arriving soon.

In the meantime, I guess I'll set up a corner for projects I want to do and have the fabric for so I can go ahead and get them cut out in preparation for marathon sewing in a few weeks when I decide on a new machine.

Micki, I feel your pain, everytime I do a quilt on my sewing machine, I get a horrible twisty snaggy pain thingy in my shoulders and neck and it seems like it takes forever to get better. The machine is all set up and I was so exhausted after putting it together I didn't want to make the cloth leaders.. so I ordered them. I will give everyone a complete rundown next week when they arrive and I've had a chance to try it out.

Please let us know how you like the juki w/ frame. I have been dithering over a quilting Mach. And read the description of this one. Sounds good for the money-a consideration since I'm retired and have no experience w/quilters. I have done small ones on home machine, but it pulls on my shoulders.

I think we're both in good shape then for some time... now if I can just get the space for the quilting machine cleaned out before it arrives.. all will be right with the world.

that is the way my fw & my necchi are. i have never liked that. now my janome has introduced me to a whole new world. lol i was playing w the bobbin winder yesterday and showing hubby how cool it was. but what you do i also do. i don't always use white, but will wind several bobbins at a time when working on project. it is such a pain to run out ...still have to switch 'em out...but now i don't have to untreas if the stockpile runs out. :))

Well, I won't lie.. I totally couldn't make the thread do what the instructions said for the bobbin, lol.. but I finally got it and it's sooooo much easier to change the bobbin than it was on my janome, also it's nice to see when it's almost empty instead of it being a total surprise every time. There is one thing I don't like on this little Singer, the bobbin winding, you have to take the needle thread off and use this sideways thread holder and the way they say to thread it to the bobbin.. well it's just not the best design..but I bought extra bobbins and since 90% of the time I'm sewing with white thread, I just wind a dozen of them at a time, then I don't get annoyed so frequently, lol.
