I have to say, since I've been home, I feel completely out of sync with everything going on here. It doesn't help that I've been sleeping my life away the last few weeks. I haven't done a heck of a lot, but my house is getting cleaner and a little more organized, it's one of my New Year's Resolutions, get everything a place and put it there, what doesn't have a place, get rid of it. Hopefully come the end of the year, my house will have stayed clean for some time, all the excess baggage will be history and I'll feel light and carefree, lol. It's a good theory anyway.

I made one more resolution that most of you will laugh at. I'm going to do my best to not buy any fabric this year.

Yes, I said, no fabric buying, if there is something in my stash that will do, I must use it, not go buy something 'prettier'. Customer projects are the only exception, because well, that fabric isn't going in my stash and I only buy what I need for those. Some of you know that I used to have a quilt shop, which means that now I have TONS of fabric. I have dozens of full bolts, tons of fq's and it's been 6 yrs since I closed the store. It's time to use up some of that fabric. So far so good, I haven't bought any fabric in January, lol..although Hancock's batik sale was pretty tempting in my email this morning.

One more quilting resolution is to get am many of the family quilts done as possible. I'm not sure how many I have left to make, I just mailed off two of them to two nieces. It seems the arthritis in my hands gets worse every year so I've had this goal for awhile to get each of the adult members of my immediate family, at least one quilt that I made for them. My goal is one quilt top per month, I'll give myself extra time to get them quilted, let's not be crazy here, lol.

I hope 2013 is treating all of you decently so far and continues to do so. Happy Quilting ladies and gents.

Thanks Ginnie, good luck, I've been following your quilts for this year.. so far so good. I did Christmas quilts one year for all my brothers and sisters, except I didn't start them until October, lol. I still don't have one for myself. I have gotten 3 of my family quilts finished and shipped though, so I'm pretty happy about that, only another dozen or so to go. Good luck to us both!!

Love life goals - you go, girl!  We must be sisters of different mothers.  My project this year is a Christmas quilt for each family in  my immediate family circle - that's 12 in all.  I have already finished 4 tops and am starting #5 tonight.  I am calling 2013 - The Year of the Christmas Quilt and you can see them in my albums on this site (Virginia "Ginnie" Leiner).  I too am always battling too much stuff around the house.  When we bought this big old house, the goal was that my sewing room would be the partially finished attic.  Well, part of the "partial" is no heat or AC so I find myself downstairs more often than not and this winter, I took over a guest bedroom for my sewing room.  The attic is storage for the most part but I have no where near as much fabric as you claim.  Part of the reason for the Christmas quilt project was to use up my Christmas fabric stash but I seem to still be buying fabric, mostly on-line.  oy vey!  Good luck with your resolutions.  I will check back and see how you are doing.  Best regards,  Ginnie
