Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
So a couple weeks ago, I got this email from Hancocks welcoming me as one of their customers (we don't have one in Columbia but I know where they are in St. Louis, lol.).. I don't recall why they sent it but they did.. and included in that little email was a code for free shipping. Free shipping!!! I hate paying s&h, it jacks up the price of my fabric entirely too much.
Anyway, I did nothing with the email for several days, I was patient, I almost deleted it, I did my best to ignore it.
Today, my package arrived, lol. They happened to be having a lovely little sale on panels, and they have a LOT of panels. I bought 6, I would have bought more but I limited myself to $30. So now I'm sitting here staring at these amazing pieces of fabric and trying to decide which one to start with. I have cartoon race cars, SOOOOO cute, nighttime flower fairies, catkins..adorable.. gorgeous sea animals, and some lily floral panels from south seas that have the most vibrant, bright colors I've seen in fabric in a long time... and then there's the animal spirits from Kaufman, if you haven't seen these.. oh my gosh, talk about gorgeous.
If the boyfriend were here he'd tell me to just calm down, lol, and then he'd declare I need medication.
So, this is my quandary, but what a good one to be in, I'm not complaining a bit.

Comment by viki hagan on August 10, 2012 at 5:46pm Oh Carol, I'd be upset about that too and considering where it came from, they really should have known better.. did you call them and complain? I worked in retail for years and even with that policy I bet with that bad of service they would have done something to help make it right.
Michelle, I've seen your project and thought about joining it but I'm just not sure I am the right person for the job.. I'm not from Missouri, I'm a reluctant transplant and I really don't care for it here at all, sad but true. I grew up out west and then moved to the gulf coast in Alabama for several years, I hate the cold weather here so much and the I gotta say being landlocked like this is not a happy place for me. I think you'd be better off with someone who truly loves it here.
Comment by Carol Olson on August 10, 2012 at 3:18pm I'm glad you had a gitty experience with your buy, I ordered from Eleanor Burns so excited when the pkg showed up only to find the material I ordered was cut from 2 different bolts so of course they did not match(color dye) and the other I ordered five yds. and they sent me 3/4's. I would of just canceled if only I had known. And of course no returns. Sorta gave me a bad taste on internet orders. But maybe I'll have to give it another whirl, or I could get better meds. so I don't care what the fabric looks like
Comment by Michelle Costen on August 10, 2012 at 2:46pm Yes people use to think Albert Eienstien needed some medication too.
Why call it a quandry ? I see your situation as an oportunity for infinite possibilities..:) You could do some great things with those collage of fabrics, something you hadn't even thought of....
