Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
Hi, friends!
How have you been? I would like to show you my last quilts.
"Playing in circles". Lots of animals and freehand quilting. And "A day in the country". Toile de jouy and roses to pay homage to true love.
I hope to hear from you, comments, opinion, criticism. I want to learn from you.
Thanks,
Best wishes from Argentina.

Dear Anne-Marie and Terry,
Thanks for you comments. As regards the size: A day in the country is 30x30 centimeters and the other, Playing in circles is about 39x39 centimeters.
On the other hand, when I was looking for some designs I looked at the quilts in "Circle Play" by Reynola Pakusich and "500 full-size patchwork patterns" by Maggie Malone.
I wanted to try circles. I guessed it was rather difficult but I had to do it. Finally I managed to apply the forms somewhat easily. As Anne-Marie said, I wanted the quilt to have dimension, not to be flat, that's why I sew one circle on top of the other. I took copies of the fabrics at home with my own printer to be able to cut the forms avoiding to damage the fabric. When I had the plan ready I cut the fabrics.
The other quilt is a traditional patchwork pattern, a daffodil. When I decided on the fabrics to be used I sew the top and then I cut it in 4 parts.
Comment by Anne-marie Miro on February 23, 2012 at 10:34pm I just love the 3D aspects of your quilt. It's a nice interactive touch for a child!
Comment by Terry Breedon on February 23, 2012 at 10:07pm Hi Pat, I think these are very creative! How small is the top one? It doesn't appear to be very large. I think you did a beautiful job on the quilting. Are these your own patterns and designs? They are both very different, and yet each is very appealing. Isn't it fun to quilt and be so creative? I hope we see more of what you do in the future. Terry
