Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
Eclectic is done, even with a tag which I put on it tonight. I'll deliver it to my niece in two weeks. She is really anxious to get it! Pictures of the finished quilt will be posted as soon as it's cool enough to go outside. (Wow! What a heat wave in Michigan!)
My younger son will graduate from chiropractic college in Georgia in December, so I have put aside the fabric for a Twister quilt (no idea who that will be for!) and purchased two charm packs of Birch Bark by Moda for a fairly quick and easy graduation present for him. I found the pattern on-line at Moda's Bake Shop called "Happy Weekender" by Kim at My Go-Go Life.
Two UFO's still, baby quilt #1 is still at the long-armer and will need binding and label done on it, and baby quilt #3 needs quilting, but my top thread (red) was showing on the back of the quilt (yellow) so I have to adjust my top tension. Which means, I have to go thru the process of sewing at each tension level before finding the one that works. Won't happen for a couple of weeks, what with a class reunion and LIFE convention coming up this month!
Happy quilting! Stay cool!

Sue, did you get the quilt finished? It has been warm enough to stay inside in the ac and quilt. But this week it has been beautiful. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate as far as quilting projects go. I have a wish list to get started on myself, as soon as I get everyone else's quilts made. I am presently working on a quilt for my youngest son. It is a skull quilt and is red, black, and white. It is turning out fine, except I put a border on it I really am not fond of...so it is coming off, Yuck!!!
Yes, the Cherry Festival is going on now, it has been all week. Absolutely beautiful weather for a festival. Muskegon is a gorgeous area, you are so luck to live there.

Comment by B. Sue Lohr on July 6, 2012 at 3:25pm Janie Lewicki - we are in Muskegon - not quite as beautiful as Traverse, but still, sandy beaches and great breezes! My husband and I were debating the other day when the Cherry Festival was, since we seem to have quite a lot of cherries showing up at the farmer's market! Hope it calms down for the Festival!
Michigan is a schorcher lately. I have been hibernating in the AC for the last couple days. I can't imagine those poor people south of us with no AC. Just a little to warm for me. It is a good time to get some quilting done, since I won't be going outside. Where along the Michigan coast line are you? We are up here by Traverse City. Hopefully the temp drops a little because the Cherry Festival is beginning Sat. It is a great time!
