Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
Today I went to an auction. I don't get to them very often anymore but I really wanted to go to this one. I spent a small fortune and of course ended up with dozens of items I didn't actually want so I could get the few things I did...I believe this is what prompted the beginning of ebay, etsy, yardseller and all the rest. Anyway.. I made one really awesome purchase.
These blocks! The colors are great and they are hands stitched. Yes, hand stitched and the corners match up perfectly on each one. There are not a lot of them but I think with some clever sashing and border treatments, I can get a nice sized quilt out of them.
I had to buy an entire box of linens to get them, but since the whole box cost $5, I feel it was a fairly frugal purchase and worth every little penny.

Comment by viki hagan on October 9, 2012 at 8:22pm Yes, yes I did, lol. No setting pieces so I'm on my own for all that, but looking forward to doing it. I expect it will be some time before I go to another one.
