Today I went to an auction. I don't get to them very often anymore but I really wanted to go to this one. I spent a small fortune and of course ended up with dozens of items I didn't actually want so I could get the few things I did...I believe this is what prompted the beginning of ebay, etsy, yardseller and all the rest. Anyway.. I made one really awesome purchase.

These blocks!  The colors are great and they are hands stitched. Yes, hand stitched and the corners match up perfectly on each one. There are not a lot of them but I think with some clever sashing and border treatments, I can get a nice sized quilt out of them.

I had to buy an entire box of linens to get them, but since the whole box cost $5, I feel it was a fairly frugal purchase and worth every little penny.

since the blocks are well made, the setting piece which is just like the one for dbl wedding ring, will be very straight forward. i found my pattern in an old q mag fr yard sale. redrew it then made it. had already found out that the old mag patterns as drawn for publication, would not work. don't know if from style of printing or what. but after couple frustrating near tears disasters i just redrew redrafted all my patterns. that is why son got me block base back when he talked me into using a pc.

anyway...long days sure seem to let me wander lollol!! but lay the two blocks points to points on paper..maybe starch lightly so they stay correct..and draw along inside edge. add seam allowance and you are good to go. sounds like you have made several dble wedding ring quilts. this will be a piece of cake for you!! and they are sooooooo pretty. scrappy or organized in interlocking circles...awsome pattern!

Yes, yes I did, lol. No setting pieces so I'm on my own for all that, but looking forward to doing it. I expect it will be some time before I go to another one.
