Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
I am SO excited that AQS is going to be, literally, in my back yard (45 minutes away)! I had a serious case of desire to go to Paducah this past spring, as my 93 year old aunt lives about 50 miles from there! I was working, and I just didn't have the time or the money. I didn't go. THEN, it was announced they would be in GR in August! (No, I haven't been to see my Aunt yet, either.)
I have my three-day pass, am registered for one class, and got an email that there will be a flash mob on opening morning on the footbridge over the Grand River - bring a small colorful quilt! They will be filming and showing it all over the country, evidently! I am seriously considering contending with the crowd just to do that...then maybe go to breakfast with a friend from GR until the crowd thins out?
The only down side is all the temptation to buy, buy, buy! I am now, if you follow me, unemployed and short on disposable income. And, I counted last night - I have three quilts to begin to piece (pattern AND fabric selected) and a small wall hanging to do, as well as Christmas presents (mug rugs, totally random from scraps). UGH. The LAST thing I need is more fabric or projects!
The Attic Window is a quilt store in Grand Rapids that I love to visit - I just got an email from them with all the great projects and fabrics they plan to have. Visit http://westmichquilter.blogspot.com/ to see what they will have at their booth!
My plan is to take my camera on day one, and MAYBE $25. Day two, MAYBE $25, and day three, well, whatever money I can find! I know the best choices will be gone after day one. IDEAS, ANYONE?????
