Hello all you quilters out there. I have a large round metal quilting hoop I was going to put on Craig's List. However, I have searched online under everything I can think of but can't find anything even similiar to this one. It was made by Mountain Mist (a Stearnes & Foster Co.) and is app. 62" around and 20-1/2" around. The label says "patent pending". Any information or comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Brenda

'k...i am not going to say i give up..i don't even know how to pronounce those words :)).

but...i have searched under every term i can think of, checked the mountain mist site, vitage sewing/quilting ephmera sales sites..ask.com etc etc, & ..nothing. checked images, says to change my terms. this puzzles me, and as much as i love puzzle and quandry..this has me baffled. i love and own many antique kitchen, sewing, household antiques. "patent pending" is very common notation on much of what i own. especially the wierder stuff lol. if there is a patent number or any kind of number..if patent was applied for or given, you might find out something from the government patent office, here is a page of links to different areas to search in that direction.

this is fascinating. at first the metal "loops" looked like they may be for inserting legs. thought...ah ha! it was an early try at the type of quilt/cross stitch/needlework stands that are made of wood now. some with attachment that sits under thighs instead of standing on the floor. for those of us here that love old stuff...please post info on where you obtained it and any info on the label besides mountain mist? it is easy to add on to your blog post...go to your blog page, upper r corner "edit" and then save and repost. thanks!

oh, btw...i just love your photo badge/icon/atavar ...not sure correct term for mqp! :))

Hi Brenda,

There is a Facebook page for the magazine Dusty Old Thing, where you can post a picture and ask those who follow the page to give their comments on the article. That might be a way to get information. Another way would be to go to mountainmist.com (google it, as there are two: one for water delivery, and the other for quilting supplies.)
