Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
Well my sewing room is essentially "put together". There are some small things to do such as change out the electric outlets, finish my cutting table, get a big cork board, and at this point in time we are considering using the leftover board from my cutting table for a new sewing machine table (which of course will necessitate purchasing two more storage shelves!). :D
As I was gathering my stuff from the far reaches of the household I had an Ahhh moment. I am an avid follower of Bonnie Hunter, she is so creative and while I have just recently started to quilt again she really inspires me. I have been chunking up my scraps into stings, 2 1/2 inch blocks, 2 1/2 in strips, 5 inch blocks, 2 inch blocks, etc. You get the picture, and using them as leaders and enders when I sew. My ah moment as I am going through boxes which have kits (never been started), patterns, and a little of everything else I realized that all along I have been a fabric hoarder! I have ziploc baggies of scraps from the quilts I have made, clothes I have made, etc. Now to get them organized in some semblance of order and do something wonderful!
I think my funk which started this blog is over and I am ready to move into a new bright chapter of life!

Comment by Colette LeFever on October 9, 2012 at 4:39pm a storage corner, Quilt kits waiting to be made, a couple to be completed. Sewing stuff waiting to be put away in the blue bin. Notice the featherweight on the floor? My barn find for $30 which Honey got up and running. Needs some new paint cause it had quite a bit of damage, and a belt, power cord and foot pedal, but it runs like a top!
