Inspiring Quilters, Stitch by Stitch
A few years ago I purchased the Jinny Beyer kit for "Moonglow". She gave directions and patterns for template or paper piecing. The directions said if all blocks were paper pieced, then additional fabric should be purchased. HA. I didn't read that till 2 years after I bought the kit. Anyway, I proceeded and paper-pieced all of the star blocks and it did come out beautifully. To my joy I had lots of leftover fabric. I decided that I am a very thrifty paper-piecer. LOL So, I took all those scraps and made a 60 X 60 lap quilt featuring some paper-pieced stars and other blocks from EQ6. It turned out just as beautiful. Love those purples, greens, turquoises, and blues with the navy and black.
Our son's second daughter saw it when just the top was finished and fell in love with the colors. So I had to rush this past week to get it finished as they are moving in a few days. I sewed the binding on today and will present it to her this week just before they move North. It can keep her warm on the cold, snowy nights she will experience come December and January. I sure will miss her and her sister and brother. And, of course, our son and daughter-in-law too.
