Adding photos of some whole cloth quilts

I just added some photos of some of the whole cloth quilts that I have made. It's a very rainy day here, the perfect type of day to stay inside and quilt, (and play on the computer).  Have a great day.

Good news just keeps pouring in this morning. The Lancaster show opened with the announcements of the winners. Set up in Lancaster, PA

I heard from the AQS staff in Lancaster a few minutes ago. They are about finished with set up and are excited about the show opening tomorrow at the Lancaster County Convention Center. This is the second year we will have the show there and we are enjoying the city and the facility. I believe the vendors are happy, too, and working hard to finish setting up their booths.

I can’t wait to find out who the Best of Show winner is. That announcement will be made at 8:40 tomorrow morning…

Mariner's Compass quilt

I just added a pic of a Mariner's Compass quilt I finished today.  This was a freebie available on Brenda Henning's site.  It was paper pieced and machine quilted.

whole cloth wallhanging

I finished the binding on the wall hanging last night. Here's a picture of it. I still have to put a sleeve on it and a label. I might do some more quilting on it, I haven't decided yet. Maybe something else quilted in the center around the flower. Anyone have any ideas?… Continue

Beautiful snow melt day in Maine

It's a beautiful day here in Maine. The sun was shining (but now it is behind a cloud). Some of our snow has melted, but as you can see, we still have quite a bit left. This is our lilac that is buried under the snow. I'm not sure if this post went through the first time, I think I hit a wrong button. Sorry if it gets posted twice.… Continue

whole cloth wallhanging

I just finished the quilting on my whole cloth Christmas wall hanging the other night. I'm hoping to get the binding finished this weekend. I love designing my own whole cloth quilts. I've never done a large one, just wall hanging or baby quilt size. I'm trying to decide what my next hand quilting project will be.

Being at each AQS quilt show is always exciting for me, because as the executive book editor for AQS, I get to meet so many…

One Week to Lancaster Show!

Oh my...only one week left to get things done! While I help answer the phones, the “show girls” are busy packing their goodies to load on the truck. This is always a hectic but fun time in the office. We always get excited before a show. New quilts to see, new quilters to meet, friends to greet, new things to buy! I've made my shopping list, have you made yours? See you in Lancaster!

hello and howdy!

I love to see beautiful work and miss the friends I used to visit with at my "quilt class" in Joplin, MO.  I kinda quit learning new things but did like to chit-chat with the ladies and show off my projects.  Wish I could find a new group to sew with here in Springfield.  I am looking forward to exploring this site and seeing all the beautiful work you all have posted here!

Hawaiian quilt blocks

Just a quick note about my current project. The new photos are of some Hawaiian style quilt blocks that I am working on. I haven't decided how many blocks or what size quilt it will be. I'll decide that later.

NOOK cover

My husband bought me a NOOK ereader for Christmas this year. I love it, but I couldn't find a cover for it that I liked. So I decide to make one. I fell in love with the fabric when I saw it at the store and decided that it would make a colorful cover. I'm going to try to upload the photo of it, if I can find it on my computer.
