Long time between posts.

Hello everyone,

Tonight I start off with poor Bernard Tomic lost his tennis match Wimbledon.  He gave it a good try. Feeling not so bad at the moment.  Have started quilting my Roses Quilt for Magda.  I purchased some extra threads today and had an opportunity to talk with a quilting store owner with regards to what threads are the best.  Got some good bits of info.  He warned me about one particular thread as it is no longer made in europe as the factory has gone to a…

New Blogger

This is the second blog I've started. Maybe this one will help me keep the other one up to date. We shall see.

As my profile states, I have been quilting since 2003, on and off.  I've moved several times through the years and have had to take time off.  But recently, I've become very interested in quilted bags and…

Fantastic Quilters and Quilts

I have just returned from week of June 13 in St. Paul MN.  I had the opportunity to lecture and teach workshops of Wonderful 1 Fabric Quilts to participants to Minnesota Quilts, INC.   The students created some of the finest designs from their kits in one class.   Another class they furnished their wallpaper print bordered fabrics and they too created fantastic pieces.  Hopefully they will be sharing photos with us soon.

Quilters from other states joined us and were delighted with the…

Spider Web Quilt

I just purchased Material Obsession 2 and love everyone of the quilts.  After much thought I finally decided to make the Spider Web quilt shown as Maple Leaf Rag in the book.  I like it because the background will be using some of my stash as well and the quilt is just so colorful. Has anyone done one of these?

THE AGONY OF THE HANDS

How many injuries have you had over the years of quilting?  Oh the agony we can go through wondering every time we get hurt how long will it be before I can quilt.  I have poked my fingers so many times I can't even tell you, but I have some scars from them.  Now the Rotary is another thing, I have two long ones that while looking at my ruler I forgot to watch where my hand was, yup I did it right across the knuckles.  Then there was the time that I thought I had everything in place and that…

Rain, rain, go away!!

It's raining AGAIN...our pool is not getting uses much this spring/summer - either it's raining, or the water is so cold cause it gets cold at night!!  Our exchange student leaves next Wednesday to go back home to Spain, I have not given him his quilt yet - we are having a going away party for him on Sunday - hopefully his 'buds' will write him messages on the back!

Trying to convince my daughter to move up to the room he stayed in - so I can knock some walls down and make my studio…

Play day!

Well, today I designated a play day.  I've been piecing and sewing and today I want to pull out the fabric paints and Paintstiks and just play around and experiment.  I haven't done so in ages; I guess I just don't like the mess that happens when I pull out the paints.  I need to get an early start because I like working on the dining room table and that's where hubby does his homework.  The last time I…

Let us see your sewing area!

Where do you quilt? Do you have your own sewing "haven" or do you have to share space with the rest of the family? Do you love your space or are there things you would have different? What is your best organizing/ space utilization tip? Post pics if you have them! (I'm going to; but I have to clean up a little first, *giggle*).

Just got back form Virginia Beach!

I just came home from Virginia Beach. Just me and the kids. We left the hubby at home. It was a very last minute trip. My Dad has a time share there and at the last minute couldn't use it. I love that I am a stay at home Mommy and could go!

While we were there, they were having their annual art show right on the Boardwalk! It was amazing! I was slightly disappointed that there was not a single quilter. Lots of clothing but no quilts. It seemed wrong somehow. Come on ladies (and gents)…

Need some energy and inspiration...

What started out as a bright, sunny day has turned into clouds. Have so many "must get done by September" projects, but being in an RV, by the time I get everything out it is time to put it all away. Having a cold/allergies doesn't help a lot either. Have a Round Robin vest that needs to be quilted before it is assembled. Have some ideas, but have hit a mental block on what else to do. So much fabric, so many projects, so little time.
