Grandmother flower garden

Well if you all remember  back on the 1st of January 2013, I put out a challenge to everyone to either post a pic of a grandmother's flower garden that you had  completed  and if you've never done one the challenge was to get started. Well me and my big mouth, LOL. I had never done one, well now that's changed , cause I just finished it and boy oh boy what a workout. It ended up being 98 X 98 and with over 2700 hexes, what a workout. Oh yeh,it was done all by hand, 3 spoolss of thread,at least…See More

Hi Cindy,

Welcome and I apologize for taking so long to add you. Been busy getting fabric together to make sure its what the person wants. Thats the one hard part in making a quilt for someone else. Next time I'll let her pick it out and send it to me. Take care and keep in touch. Happy quilting my friend. Always, always ask questions. Remember this; "There is never a dumb question." A professor told me that in class. I've never forgotten that and ALWAYS asked questions.

Hi Cindy.

Welcome ...

I have to say I was suprised to get a "Friend" request.  It's been way too long since I have been on this site.  Sorry about that.  It's a good place to get fun facts, info. and inspiration.  I hope you enjoy it.  I am not on the computer often but I try to check e-mail messages once a week.  I will reply to all.  And I will try to be a more active member at "My Quilt Place".  Hope, hope. ;)

Help! This is so NEW to me. I don't know how to do anything on it. How do I post a picture? If you can, explain how this place works.

Dear Cindy, thanks for including me as your new friend.  I love all your quilts

especially those based on antique patterns.   I recently started working on an

antique replica Netherlands quilt.  The pattern which uses lots of antique style

fabrics, hand applique and hand quilting, is very colouful.  It is based on an old

quilt made during the reign of Queen-Mother Emma, who was the mother of

Queen Wilhelmina.  The pattern for the new replica quilt is called simply

"Emma", as a tribute to the very well-loved Queen-Mother, who was also

supported High Sewing Schools for poor girls in Netherlands in the beginning

of the 1900s.  The Emma Quilt is featured in our Quilt & Zo Magazine as a BOM project

for 6 months during this year. I have just finished the first part, and am pleased

with the result.  If you like you can contact me at:

Hi Cindy.  I am really busy for the next few days (Had my little granddaughter today in my one totally free morning.  I was planning to finish a quilt top and instead I held my sick little girl.) but I will get in touch as soon as these next chaotic days are done.  Looking forward to it!  Bev
