I've been sewing all my life but didn't start quilting until about 10 years ago. A couple of years ago I walked out on my job of 23 years at a local hospital and went into retail - which I hated. On a whim one day I pulled into a long arm quilt business and asked if they were hiring - they were not hiring in the long arm business but they were in the companion fabric store and I got the job. It is a dream job for a quilter. I work one day a week since I recently retired - but I am surrounded by gorgeous fabrics and talented and fun people. When I am not cutting fabric and helping fellow quilters I am upstairs working on shop sample quilts.
am not sure why our paths here at mqp have not crossed before. been recoverinf from long thanksgiving trip to visit friends & family couple states away. sitting herew morning tea, watching the day lighten outside and catching up on mqp posts. visited you kitty. plan to visit your otherquilts now, but wanted to read a bit more a out you, so here i am on your page. :)) i am a retired RN and, too, have worked ina fabric store and would love to do so again, tho i would prefer it be a quilt store this time lollol! my background was er & icu - not conducive to being a single mom whilr hubby followed construction circuit. odd jobs while so at school filled the bill for my hyper-always-gotta-be-busy personality!
so...here i am ...and would like to extend a belated, tho sincere & hearty welcome to you. i think you have probably already what what a wonderful group of quilters hang out and visit and interact here. welcome.
