"true, so true. miss that house. i like current houses' setting better, in fact i LOVE current setting. the northcoast fishing/logging community was becoming a very yuppy retiree community as the last stand of redwoods came down and overfishing…"
"Mary, I grew up in San Bernardino. I left when I was 18 for college - 1964. I just came home in the summers to work, then went back to school in San Jose. I worked at the Dairy Queen on Sierra Way, gateway to the mountains. Did you ever stop for a…"
"Rogue, you have made me a little homesick. One of my library jobs was at a private boarding school in the San Bernardino Mountains. The library window looked West, and on the very rare clear days I could see Catalina, over 100 miles…"
"that sounds wonderful! i love the smell and look of natural wood. no mater how ancient the house, if there is exposed, cedar, pine, redwood - whatever, i can smell the warm natural scent of outdoors. when we left to move here i was getting ready to…"
"That blue sounds relaxing. The sun room has (will have) walls paneled with wood from our own land, pine and cedar. I think I will live with it natural for awhile and see how it ages. Poor Paul is having to re-size and plane and…"

"I once read an article on color theory for painting rooms... it said lavendar rooms tend to make people nauseated after a short period and to paint guest rooms yellow, then your house guests would be inclined to leave after about 3 days, lol. …"
"Paint selection is so tricky. We are turning part of the front porch into a sun room, and took out a living room window to turn the wall space into a french door. Fortunately we messed up the surrounding wall enough to need…"
"When my elder daughter moved out we painted her room all white to become a sewing room, took down the curtains and blinds and the lightshade and now it's so bright and airy. Still got the outside blinds for those 40 degree days in summer though

"take care mary. we do need to take care of our eyes. i sit w my tea in a.m.'s and wonder sometimes, which would be the most tramatic to lose...the sound of the wind ....water ....birdsong? or seeing the birds, trees and my needlework."
"I'm not finished with the new sewing room yet, but I am mixing some of the colors I have to see which one I like best. Tomorrow, a.m. I will go to home depot after my swimming exercise class. I will get two more of the paint sample jarss.…"
I have a new fat quarter and something I made for you ready to go in the mail but since you did not get the first one could you send me your mailing address so I can be sure I have the right address. So sorry you did not receive the first one as I think the card might have given you a laugh - after I made your card I looked at your address and saw you lived in Texas. The card I made had a snowman on it.
Suzanne - you asked that we contact birthday group members privately if we haven't received their fat quarter swap. I need to contact Charlotte Thompson and Angie Chappel, but I don't know how to reach them. Do you have email addresses for those two members of my group? Thanks, Nancy Burkhalter
Suzanne I love your butterfly quilt and the really bright one you have on your page. Its beautiful. Would it be possible to get the pattern for the quilt that has really bright colors in it. Its on the front of your post. Just beautiful.
