I have my project ready to go to a "sleep at home" retreat this weekend. I'm really looking forward to getting to know some of the ladies in the guild here. It's hard to get to know people when you only see them for a couple of hours a month.
I have two more of the scrappy square in a square twin size quilts cut, ready for block assembly. One set of blocks wll get put back for a while since it's for my granddaughter and she's not even a year old yet. The other set will get…

I know, it's hard to get all the things done we need to do, let alone our hobbies.
Think of the books for Christmas gifts! It's just around the corner since halloween candy is now out in the stores.
We're finally down to 86 here in central Kansas today (but very humid), but we'll be remembering our hot summer this winter, right?
Welcome Quilter Friend!
Love your page!
Just wanted to pop in to say “hello” and introduce myself. I’m Linda Hubalek, fellow quilter and author from Kansas. Books about pioneer women are my specialty, with a cooking or quilting theme mixed into each historical fiction series.
If you like to read—besides quilting—please enjoy my blog and book excerpts on my website too. Besides printed as paperbacks, my ten books are also available for your Kindle or Nook. Actually my Trail of Thread ebooks are on special, so now’s a good time to “Follow the trail to Kansas” with my quilting women.
Or if you’d like the paperback version I just posed a special on my Linda Hubalek website (until Aug. 21st) that you can get 20% off your book order by using the code QUILT in the shopping cart.
I have about a dozen quilts made by my great grandmother, (that we used all the time when I was a kid) so I’m into antique quilts and patterns. What kind of quilts and patterns do you like to work with?
Happy quilting and reading!
Linda Hubalek
