I LOVE hand quilting!!

I just found this group and had to join. Hand quilting is my absolute favorite part of the quilting process. I'm from Northeastern PA and have been quilting for about 4-5 years. I am currently finishing the last row of border on a quilt made with 2 blocks from my grandmother. They are Posy Basket. My quilt guild friends made more blocks so I put my grandmother's blocks in the center, and the others all around. I want to finish it up and on Christmas day, hang it behnd my mother's bed as a…See More

Hi Sandra!  I've been here for a few weeks now and am really enjoying it.  This is my first social networking site...I've never blogged or do facebook, so this is all new to me.  I've been quilting for 5 years and love machine quilting.  I learned to quilt when I took an early retirement (I'm almost 50 now); I had never learned to sew, so I was hesitant to take up quilting, but I'm so hooked on it now!  There are a lot of groups here; I think they even have one for hand quilters.  I belong to machine quilting, piecing, traditional quilts, scrappy quilts and a few others.  I started a group for newbies because I had so much help from others when I first started.  Plus, I have lots to learn as well.  I've never taken a class because there aren't any in my area.  There are no guilds either.  Which is partly why I joined My Quillt Place.  I need interaction with other quilters!

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and welcome!

Welcome Quilters! is brought to you entirely free as a service of the American Quilter's Society. We hope you enjoy meeting one another and sharing your experience and expertise. Enjoy!
