Bernice Rodriguez left a comment for Riana NoyesRiana - how beautiful your quilts and hangings are! Thanks for posting them on this web site - I love looking at others work and thinking that someday I'll be making some - maybe not quite as nice - but maybe some as nice!

Thanks Riana - that's what I was thinking of trying - just don't know if it would happen again when she washes it???

Bernice Rodriguez said… I had no idea you can view the Quilt Sampler magazine for free. Thanks for the intel! I just love this magazine. I love to hear about stories of how people started small and now have a successful quilt shop. I dream of having one someday. Unfortunately I do not have money for start up cost and banks are no longer giving loans for brand new businesses. So in the meantime I have an online (mini store), www.quiltnstitchny.com and I am also a seller on etsy under the quilters candy shop. Anyway maybe one day I can be a success story in the Quilt Sampler :)) Anything is possible !! Thanks Riana I will definitely check out the magazine online on the next go around!

Elizabeth Phillips said… Hi Riana,
At quilt camp I just worked on 4 projects of my own. I got a lot done!
Today I went to a quilt-in for QOV. I started an interesting kit called "Scrambled Fat Quarters" and I will finish this quilt at home. In addition the organizer asked me to take a couple of quilts home to sandwich, quilt and bind. I took 2. What could I do - it is a very worthwhile project.
It snowed here this week but it didn't stay long. I wore a heavy jacket today. It was 48 degrees in the morning.
For the quilt smart You sew the interfacing to the fabric then "glue" it down and then depending on the pattern you applique it from the top. I've used it for both a Dahlia and a Double wedding ring. It has helped me with those tricky patterns.
You asked about quiltsmart, here is their website: http://www.quiltsmart.com/ They use interfacing to help with making difficult patterns, like double wedding ring, dahlia, all kinds of things.
