"Cheri, this is needle turn appliqué. I love doing it because it is portable. I can take it to Dr. while sitting and waiting. I will look in my Fons and Porter mags for the pattern you are looking for. Sometimes they repeat patterns."

"Is it needle turn or raw edge applique?  I have only done fusible which turns the edges in for your but it is a Sun Bonnet Sue quilt."

"I agree with your friend, lol, completely appropriate response. I do applique work but I'm afraid I may never finish enough blocks to actually make a quilt in this lifetime. Yours is gorgeous though, well done."

Profile Information

Tell us about yourself
I have been quilting since I could handle a needle. My Grandmother quilted and she gave us projects at a very young age to keep us busy. I am a traditional quilter, love scrappy quilts (need to get rid of scraps). Very happily married to the love of my life. Fell in love with him at 18 and married him at 63! He found me on Facebook! Gotta love it!
How many quilts have you made?
too many to count!
Do you want to make quilts, or simply enjoy them?
I make them all day, almost every day
How long have you been a quilter?
Since I could hold a needle.
What is your favorite quilting technique?
I hand piece, machine piece, applique by hand or machine. As long as I am quilting I am happy.
Why do you quilt?
It is how I express myself, it relaxes me. I do it because I love it!
