dunno about the website thing. there has certainly been an excessive abundance of crafty blog websites etc over the last decade or more, moi included, but the blogs were going strong long before that. my son intro me to pc. i went along, it was that or never understand another word he said. was amazed at all the art sites, craft etc sites...routinely crashed my pc...till i figured put that having fifty graphics sites open at one time really was not a good thing. son installed more ram lollol. think maybe icq then yahoo & finally ms got the thing going for the "common" non proogrammer peoples. ms & yahoo blights on the netscape (which was a mighty fine place in it's day) of the web...seeing the opportunities for growth buying up really great places like icq. don't mean to sound like i miss the "good 'ol days". ...there is no such "time". but, it has changed. zuckleberg is one of my hero megabrains...but i still have no use for facebook. at any rate, days like today i do fill up my inbox w links to downloadable goodies, ideas and just plain cool places to share or go back to.

you think that may be the difference? could be. hadn't thought about THAT connection to sudden blossoming of all things network related in quilting. hmmmm....welll!! that is certainly disheartening to think about.

yes we are. must state tho, back in the dark ages of pc communication, i tried to find chatters etc online of quilty interest. hit all of the groups on icq one night. by the end of my frustrated attempts to connect w some one in the groups who were on-line according to the icons....i posted a couple of very frutration based comments re: the much lauded "quilters friendliest people in the world" lala that i was always reading about. then logged off icq in disgust amd went an apppologised to my poor neglectedsewing machine that i had tossed aside for the new life on www that son was sooooooo enjoying, wip & my then bqfff (best quilting fuzzy friend forever). nxt time i booted pc...pop-up of chat window..."oh don't worry, they never talk to me either! and i am a member of every single group!! lollol" ...i called my new friend "polly-pop-up" because she was there every time i booted. untill i learned how to set "preferences" . we have been chatting, sharing fam stories ..tales of our kids misadventures quilts & life for many years now. and yes, today i can happily agree w you that "we are a friendly lot.." we quilters. finally. :))

I love that purple star .. that's amazing. My goal is to better my applique skills by using other than just fusible. My blanket stitch placement is a bit off on some of these curves yet  LOL  And I want to do reverse and actually sit down and do your horse head with your method :D

 

I love the links Donna sent -- tell her to add me too  LOL  I'm trying to cut my 'puter time -- but there is so much out there -- I love the FMQ tutorials .. the braid border is good, I'll have to wait until Doug goes back to OK to look  more .. he's needing some attention :D
