As an avid quilt and doll designer I struggle how to get my work noticed. I travel to Art/Craft shows all over the country selling my finished products. I also sell on Etsy, Website and Facebook under the name Mona Rae Originals/Hidden Talents. I have met several of you at the shows. My next venture in life will be to write my quilt patterns and start selling them at the Quilt shows, my personal challenge will to have my first ones available at the Grand Rapids, MI AQS show in August.…

I strongly believe that every quilter has a big heart and is always looking to help spread the word. What do you do with your extra fabric? Or how about supplies you no longer use? I have a Mother-in-Law in a nursing home. Recently they held a sale at the facility, I then found out that a resident had made quilts and sold them to the staff and residents. I decided to gather some of my fabric and go meet this lovely lady. She was so happy because she doesn't have the money to purchase…

I'm often asked by customers "Do you enjoy what you are doing", so I thought maybe all of the quilters here might like to hear my story about the many quilt shows that we sell hangers at. First I want to make it clear that we love what we do, love to meet the customers, love to see their quilts, love to hear their stories and most of all the hugs and smiles that we receive from them. I design all of my quilts for sale, I sell them at Craft/Art shows, on Etsy and the Web. I also made doll patterns for years that were copyrighted, which meant for personal use only. I quit selling the patterns because I had to keep fighting the crafters at the shows who felt if they bought the pattern they had the right to sell the finished items. Pretty hard when a customer comes into your booth and complains about a doll they purchased that looked like mine and it…

To add AQS to your friend list:
Click on the "Quilters" link at the top of your page. Put AQS in the search bar and click the button. Three choices will come up...one for AQS Publishing, one for AQS contests/shows and just the regular AQS. That's the one I chose. It took them a couple of days to be added to my list.
Hey Mona..I e-mailed the AQS last week about another "strange" member and they were suspended. When I saw this new one I sent an e-mail as well. I keep tabs on members as they join (to welcome them, but also to keep an eye out for odd entries). I added the AQS to my "friends" so I could send them e-mails.
