"Lisa, sorry to drag up an old post, but I am wondering if your issue with the breeze track was ever solved. I have the same issue - kind of like the machine has a mind of its own when I have he head in the center of the table, and I am…"
I can't say anything about your TU bar, but it sounds like your tracks are bowed, bent or uneven. I hope, by this time, you've gone over your dealer's head and called Gammill directly. When you say that you're quilting…"
"Yeah, last night when I was raising the takeup bar to roll the quilt, it... FELL OFF.
It would've been nice if it was put together properly (not out of the factory, the head and motor are a dream! the guy that set it up is the problem). …"
"Lisa~ Not familiar with the Gammil tables. On an APQS table, you have to make sure the Crossbars are the exact width apart so the machine will track smoothly. Does your table work that way as well?
"Gosh Lisa. I wish I had some advice but I'm not that familiar with how the Gammil is constructed, but could it be a leveling issue or a frame warp issue. Been there and had that happen. I do, however, want to let you know that…"
"Yes, ma'am. They are both Gammills. But here's the thing. My old machine is a 30" head on a 14 foot table with the old track system and Edge Rider wheels.
The new machine is a 22" head on a 12 foot table with…"
"Lisa~ Is it the same brand as your other machine? Does it have a differant tracking system? I have an APQS Milli and an APQS Lenni, boy do they quilt differantly. Then there is the new Tracking system. I had to…"
"Thank you, Laura!
I'm mostly upset that my dealer is convinced that it's me. And it's not. I stitched on this exact same machine for TWO DAYS in Houston and did feathers one-handed while talking on the phone. …"
"Well, I did it. I got a 22 on a 12 foot table. Unfortunately I've had it for two months and barely used it as I've had problem after problem. First the module had to be swapped out, now I've made tons of adjustments…"
"I have a Gammill Classic Plus also. I would love to Statlerize it or get a second machine. I think my hubby would kick me out and change the locks if I even suggested it. lol. Apparently I spend too much time out there…"
I have two machines, and if I could, I would have 3!!!
I have one at my shoppe that I work on during business hours and one at home that
I quilt on at night. (Most of my custom work is done on my home…"
"I use Quickbooks AND Machine Quilters Business Manager!
I do invoices for the customer on MQBM and also use it for keeping track of my waiting list. It's nice that it's geared SPECIFICALLY toward the longarm business. You can…"
"Sandy, if your dealer only offered you a couple of lessons and nothing else, they must not be very caring sales people.
We offer tons of embroidery classes (where you make an actual quilt and learn your machine through repetition), have an…"
Gosh Lisa. I wish I had some advice but I'm not that familiar with how the Gammil is constructed, but could it be a leveling issue or a frame warp issue. Been there and had that happen. I do, however, want to let you know that I have the two machine set up for almost 6 years now. My computerized machine is my weekly bread and butter baby as I do quilting as a means of income, and my free form machine is for my show quilting. It has worked great for me, and I am sure when you figure your problem out, it will work great for you too. Don't give up. You will figure out the problem.
