This is my "soul food" book, most appropriate for sad and happy times, and if someone will sit still and let you read them a story.  A group of Ozark Mnt. women are quilting and telling the tales of…Continue

"Goal #1 done.  In-spite of watching the guys finish the hike( I started )to the top of a cliff at 8.000 feet.  I sat in the meadow and pretended to be Julie Andrews and I sang, "The Hills are alive with the sound of music," badly."

Mary, I see there is a quilt show in Grass Valley this weekend. Are you going to be there or do you have some quilts on display there? I am going to see if I can talk my daughter into going up to see them with me.

I am so sorry to hear that Mary.  You just hope that they have a conscience and think of stealing it every time they look at it.  Well I am sure they don't or they won't of stolen it to begin with. I feel very bad for you.

I did get one of yours wonky house blocks, Mary. Your granddaughter is very talented. The first Internet swap I did many years ago included blocks from quilters in other countries as well as U.S. quilters. It was great seeing where they came from. That was a chicken block swap; very fun. I did it twice and have 2 queen-size chicken quilts to show for it.

Mary I absolutely loved your comment - "how will 218 of us get a word in edgewise"- so funny. I love your sense of humour. thanks for making me laugh while I was exploring doing this modern mystery quilt. Happy Quilting!!  Irene in Canada

Thank you for the thoughts, that board that my husband uses to take my quilt pics is just that -aboard with some of those paper clip things. Wish I had a better way to display my quilts and share them, but you got to do what you can with what you have.If any body has any suggestions on a cheap way to do this I would appreciate it.Alot of my quilts end up being queen to king size so it makes it hard to hang them where you can see all the detail.Love to hear from ya and your thoughts.

Hi Mary,

Glad you liked the photo's from IQF., and that you have such fond memories of Galway. After looking through your photo's, I see a very talented lady with a good sense of fun, a powerful combo.

I am a late starter - newbie quilter, appreciate that I have a great deal to learn, but am enjoying the process.  Also found out in Galway that quilters worldwide are a friendly bunch and it was a joy to meet them.

Have found a Quilters Group quite near to me and have been invited to join them, so looking forward to Sept., when they meet again.   I am sure I will learn a lot from them as well as enjoying their company.

Best

Cait
