Hi everyone
Well yesterday was my birthday - I have forgotten how many years it is! - and I spent 4.5 hours sitting at the hairdressers getting my highlights done. How is that for dedication......
I haven't blogged for ages but I am still sewing and have just finished a Fairy Castle qui8lt for my grand daughter (haven't taken a photo yet) and now I must move on to making a Ballerina one for the other grand daughter.
My postcard swap is going great and I love doing it.…

Hi
Forgot to mention the most important thing that happened to me 3 weeks ago. Hi Everyone
I'm back.....I went to New Zealand to see my daughter and her family for 3 weeks and then my son, who lives in the UK, came for a 3 week visit so really things have been full on. The group that I help run is having their 2nd exhibition on 17th 18th and 19th…
ContinueHappy birthday, Marian~I hope you have a wonderful day!
Where have you been? I haven't seen you around in ages! I hope you'll be back soon!
Marian...where have you been? Haven't seen you here in awhile!
By the way, I've come across about 6 quilters from Australia...I'll try finding them and send you a link to their page.
Hope things are going well for you!
Kathy Samson said… Here's another good place that ships internationally and has really good prices. Not a real pretty site, but I shop here a lot as well.
It's not in their sale section though. I just typed in ballet dancer. I'm sure you already know how to shop on-line!
I have quilted my own quilts from the beginning because I thought you were supposed to. It was a whole year before I'd even heard of someone doing it for you! I love to machine quilt!
You're right about the Ricky Tims convergence quilts...there are two of them. The brightly colored one is probably the one you noticed, and then there's one with boring colors. I like all kinds of fabrics except the civil war reproductions...they seem so depressing to me! I love just about everything else especially brights. You know, I always feel bad that people outside of the US have to pay so much for fabric when we have so much available (GOOD fabric) at decent prices. Even in Canada they pay a lot. There is a great place to shop on-line and they have half-price international shipping. It's my favorite on-line store and the link is http://fabricshack.com/ They have 2 sections. The regular shop has all the up-to-date fabrics and the lower section of the main page says "sale-a-bration". Excellent quality quilting fabric, yet discounted because they aren't up-to-the-minute fabric lines. The prices are REALLY good. Hancocks...well, I rarely shop there because their prices are the same as I can find in my local quilt shop.
I can't wait to see weaving! I read about it in Quilting Arts Magazine and have yet to try it.
Hi Marian! I love your quilts! Glad to see you posted them! The one with the circles is incredible!!! And the one that looks like stained glass I love as well; I guess I'm partial to bright colors. You know, there should be a group for art quilters, don't you think? You mentioned that you're into dying and such. I play with paints and paintstiks...do you have those over there? They're oil paints in crayon form and very fun! I play with Angelina Fibers as well.
I'm gonna send a friend request, OK?
Welcome! I just joined recently as well. I've never done a postcard swap...who is hosting it? This is the only quilting group I belong to, so I've never done any kind of swap before. I thought fabric swaps would be great fun.
Anyway, I just wanted to say hello!
