I am a quilter, sewer, artist! I live in a restored Victorian mansion that is famous in my area for being haunted and always in need of "something"! I am also a graphic artist, I crochet, mosaics and love stained glass and am always experimenting with new and old techniques... I am a perfectionist who is trying so hard to not be such of one as I have trouble finishing projects, thus why I am here! I need to learn that not everything will be perfect all the time!

Why do you quilt?
I used to make mosaics with marble. I had to give it up and turned my sites on quilting to fill the void! I used to love shopping for marble and granite, and I'm drawn now to batiks

Hello Lori,

Thank you very much for adding me to your friends list.  I absolutely love your work.  Its truly beautiful. You obviously have been quilting for a while.  Do you get your ideas from a book(s) or do you create them yourself.  I would love to do similar designs. I have only been quilting for just on 2 years now.  So I still call myself a beginner. I am inspired by your work and are planning to do something like your sunflowers but in irises instead. Do you have any suggestions or guidance on where I should start?

I suppose I should introduce myself.  My name is Julie Beard. I reside in Adelaide South Australia.  I am 52 years of age.  I was a Registered Nurse, unfortunately I had to retire due to medical issues.  So now, I live alone and spend the majority of time doing quilting and various other crafts.  I don't have any other family, I do have a wonderful neighbour who tolerates me and who has become a good friend. I hope we can become good email pals. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future. Julie Beard.
