Welcome Linda and thank you for becoming my quilting friend. I know you will enjoy this sight as much as I do. I have made new friends that all share my love of quilting from around the world. It is fun not only seeing what they have created but to learn about them and their part of this world.
I too love to hand stitch my quilts I think it just adds that much more to the love to the quilt when I give to the person that I made it for. I also love to do applique on my quilts, if you like hand stitching, you should give it a try.
I live in Juneau, Alaska and own a party store were we also carry some lingerie. It is a strange mix but it seams to work for me.
If you are building a fabric stash another place to find quilting fabric at a great price is at second hand stores like Good Will and The Salvation Army. I love looking for fabric there because you never know what you will find and I have found some great pieces there. Remember, she with the most at the end wins. I have made several large quilts from my quilting stash without having to buy more any fabric at all.
This is what it looks like out my front door when the sun is shining anyway.
Well I wish you happy quilting and please keep posting pictures of your creations for all of us to see and share.
Thanks for getting in touch, and happy to accept. Like yourself, I am new to quilting, but just looking through the gallery in MQP can inspire , as well as not only becoming a fabricaholic, finding books on this theme, for me, it is totally absorbing.
Love your outdoors shot of your purple quilt too. Do you live by a lake ?
How wonderful to be getting orders too !!!! Go girl.
