Hi Laura, your quilts are beautiful.  I especially like your "Dear God" quilt. Did you make you blocks?  I'd love to make that quilt.  Were do you find you African print fabrics. I live in Alaska and we have limited choices locally.  I'd like to get my hands on some of these fabrics. Anyway, love your quilts.

Oooo!  Carpel Tunnel is not good for a quilter.  I had carpel tunnel when I was making jewelry.  Very painful.  But I don't have a problem with it now.  It would be nice if we could get together.  And girl, I love your dress quilt!!!

My neice has a degree in English and Anthropology and she's decided she wants to be a baker!  She worked in a bakery to help get through college and just fell in love with it.  She just graduated and now she's found a summer job working for a hotel in Vermont (she's from Washington state).  I just assumed she'd be a teacher like she wanted in the beginning!

I think working in a library would be a lot of fun.  I absolutely love books and research!

Hi Laura, I wanted to say Hi. I live in NW PA, about 30 miles south of Lake Erie. I enjoy piecing and paper piecing quilts. Presently I am working on a block of the month done in Civil War Repo fabrics my girlfriend talked me into. I'm not really in love with the fabric.....but will soldier on so I can work on something with more color. I love Batik fabrik, though I am trying to vary my color palette more. Anyway, Welcome. Hope to talk to you soon. Pat Chechak

I'm having a lot of fun here; it's the only place I have to interact with other quilters (and I don't do facebook or anything of the like).

So, what degrees do you have?  My husband never went to college, and always felt like he missed out.  So, he finally decided to go and is in his second semester.  We're 50 and I sure wouldn't want to be going back!  Anyway, he lost his job when our local sawmill closed down and now he wants to get into auto mechanics.  Financially it's killing us and he's only just begun!  But I know he has dreamed of being a mechanic since we were kids.  Anyway, this site is my escape from worrying and I'm really enjoying it here.

I love your photos!  The "Dear God" quilt is adorable!
