Julia Sullivan replied to carla j walton's discussion opinions neededBTW, I changed up the sizes on a couple of the kitties, and did my own thing with layout.I just bought an "easy" colouring book (meant for preschoolers) because it had some cute line drawings that I plan to use on next redwork :)
Julia, the original kitty pattern was in a very old Mcall's needlecraft (1980ish) but the one I used was in "Easy Bazaar Crafts" Better Homes & Gardens 1989 but still at some libraries.
Hi Julia, welcome to the Freemotion group. I've been having fun learning new techniques as well. As a die-hard hand quilter, it's been an eye opener to see such variety and skill with the machine(not the computorized longarms). I own a Janome 6500 and love it too.Mainly I needed to learn because our Linus quilts need to withstand hospital laundry equipment.I've learned to piece without pins at all(even though I used to count pins going into then out of each section).Favequilt is also a site you can learn from (free patterns too. ) Please post some pictures:)
