I made room when planning my sewing room for a long arm quilting machine. I've talked to dealers, and have nearly purchased, but am unsure. I want one for home use, probably not commercial. Just to…Continue

We all get to the same place in similar ways, and my pink quilt has evolved (and devolved) until its shape and design is set (I think). I've eliminated 2 block designs, because after I twisted and turned them all on the design wall, it was just too much, too busy. That means half of the blocks made will be put aside, and I'm thinking of a sort of "re-gift" or re-use if you will, making a completely separate quilt with them. So it's off to JoAnn's tomorrow, after hubby's routine check-up to…

Dixie is the youngest of our Border Collies and my 7 month old baby. She wants all my attention today, and it's so hard to refuse her. Hubby says people work so hard to be happy for a few minutes like she is all day long. Always smiling and eager to please. She makes me get up and moving. I'll get back to quilting a little later. …

Does this look like a pink quilt? To you "real quilters" it will! Because we know some other color needs to give dimension to our quilts and make them POP. My husband (AKA my enabler) dropped me off at our local quilt shop- SewSue- and I got a couple of yards of solid pink to start the half square triangle blocks…

What a happy surprise! While I was tinkering thru my sewing closet look what I found. 5 yards of fabric I bought on a whim some time ago, with my pink-loving sister-in-law in mind. Just when I was wondering what other project I could do while I'm waiting for the next BOM assignment, and occasionally needing a break…
Lynn Kennedy said… Hello Jennifer, I am a transplant to TX, most recently from GA. I noticed that you live in GA. I lived in Roswell and then in Demorest in No. Ga. I am hoping to move back there in the next couple of years. I work full time and right now my job is in San Angelo. Tx. I will post some pictures when I get home. For the last 2 weeks I have been helping in Raleigh, NC. Ready to go home.

the rogue quilter said… sorry...trying to hurry off of pc...lollollollollol.....but meant to post comment re: your use of contrasting thread. i have been doing that from almost the beginning of my quilt journey. started out using complementary color per the instructions in books i was learning from. but decided somewhere that i liked to see the pattern...then switched to contrasting. don't know why...but do love the look. almost like embroidery. do use complimentary now and again but for the most part i would be using contrasting - varigated or overdyed - prefer valdani...beautiful colors and doesn't knot or fray. don't for get to post photos of your projects...do so want to see them!!
