HI.....
New here and would like any input re. Sunshine 16 quilting machine I saw and tried at AQS in GR, MI this
past weekend. I was actually pretty impressed with the machine (how it stitched, very little vibration) and
just wondered if anybody had one. It is unbelievably affordable, and I would appreciate some feedback.
Thanks! Happy Quilting!

Debra F. Ressler said… Hi Jane,
I am not familiar with the Sunshine 16 quilting machine. I have had my gammill for a little over a year now and love it. Did you ask the dealer for references from current owners of the Sunshine 16? They should be able to give you some names of people that would be willing to tell you how they like their machine or if they know of any drawbacks to the machine. I know when I was looking at a longarm, I seriously looked at the Innova and found nobody in the GR area that had one. I did do a as thorough of a search on the internet to find out about the company. I thought it was important to know the track record and how long the machine had been in existance. You might ask at the different quilt shops in the area if they know of anyone with the machine. I found that by asking the quilt shops they either knew someone that owned the machine you could talk with or find that nobody in the area has one. I know Jill, over at Quilted Memories in Montague, gave me some good pointers on purchasing a longarm. (She has a gammill in her quilt shop.) One of the most important points to know about is the company's service record and, if your machine needs servicing, how long of a wait is there. Check with some of the quilt guilds in the area too. They might have a member or two that own one. Good luck with your attempt to find out about the machine. I know how frustrating it can be to want to know something about the machine before purchasing it only to find almost nothing.
