Profile Information

Tell us about yourself—as much or as little as you like.
I am a writer, quilter, seamstress, and knitter. I live in the north but am fortunate to have two of my four children living in the south. I must confess though, I love winter. Skiing, skating, sledding, you name it. I hope to do the luge some day in western Michigan.
How many quilts have you made?
have lost count
Do you want to make quilts, or simply enjoy them?
Definitely want to make. Am working on three right now.
How long have you been a quilter?
since the late '70's
What is your favorite quilting technique?
machine piecing, particularly scraps
Why do you quilt?
I love taking pieces and making them into a whole. Watching how colors work together (and sometimes not).

Hi Jan, I went to Trix grade school, Gabriel Richard Jr high and Osborn High School. It's fun to meet up with someone who knows some of the same history.

Hi Jan, I'm not sure where Fowlerville is. I grew up in Detroit. I have a brother who lives in Holly and a brother and sister in Macomb. Michigan is a beautiful state. I have a cousin in Stevenville and an aunt in Benton Harbor. Maybe we will cross paths some day.

Thanks, Jan.  I post a lot of pictures of my work as I sew along.  You can also keep up with Aura and my other projects on my blog, Curlicue Creations.

Thank you, Jan for your lovely comment on my Aura quilt.  The positive feedback helps me to keep on sewing.  It's great to meet you.  Have a super day!
