The quilt frame my dh made is 8ftX8ft. but wont fit in my sewing room, he is going to reduce it down to 3ftX5ft. which is much more practicle for me. Thank you all again for your helpful responses.

Hello Gayle,
I'd love to by your friend! I was reading your profile, I quilt on my normal sewing machine too. A couple of years ago I bought a Brother machine that came recommended for quilting (plus it does lots of fancy embroidery style stitches), it now spends most of the time in its box, I use a very basic Singer, sturdy and trusty. What type of machine do you have?
