i knew about the book, but have not seen it available locally. it has been out for quite a while. we are going to portland oregon this weekend. a large fabric store there that we visit on way out of town. he buys dutch licirce, then he'll be helping me spend my birthday ck fr mil :)) i will go thru their book selection & see if it is there. i may have to resort to an on-line purchase tho.

i have a growing selection of civil war fab & fq fr yard sales, my shopping excursions etc. i have seen two color ones and other colorful examples. but i so love & prefer the colors & prints of the civil war fabrics. would do my version in those.

You will figure it out - my husband has finally learned how to e-mail (it's a miracle!)  I would love to see pics, when you either figure out how, or get a friend's help.  Have a super day!

Evelyn,

I would like to try the Farmer's Wife Quilt, too.  Do you have pictures of your work in progress on this quilt?

thanks Evelyn   Thanks for taking on the birthday swap. Too bad you can't post pictures. Its always a bit of luck when I try as I am not too savvy but it is so nice to see everyone else's work. Its like being at a quilt show. My quilting buddy and I have such different tastes in fabric and patterns. She is more traditional and I'm all about colour and fun. somehow we always still admire each others quilts.  Take care. Happy quilting. Irene

hi ellen..justbread your note re: hand surgery. i agree w the "nonsense" remark you made. a friend and i were comparing notes on hoew usless our knees are becoming..her comment pretty much sums it up, i think for all of us active folks..."age! i don't have time for any age thing!!"

so wish you well..hope surgery goes well & takes care of all the "nonsence" you've had to endure & lets you ge back to the important things....like all the swaps! speedy recovery to you!
